As the most widely used language in the world, English is designated by the US, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Canada, Australia and many other countries as their first language. So far, English has been the first (native) language of around 300 million population all over the world, the second language of approximately 250 million, and is used as a foreign language by about 300 to 500 million.
